Family roots
The inspiration for this collection comes from the story of my grandmother’s
immigration from Morocco in the 1950s. She dreamed of coming to Israel to receive an
education and work as a teacher, but found herself working as a laborer instead.
My grandmother’s story is the story of many women who immigrated to Israel.
As I researched the stories and looked through photos of groundbreaking women
through those years, I found the source of inspiration in creating the collection.
Women like Ronit Alkabetz, Esther Ofarim, Jacqueline Kahanov, Shoshana Shababo, and
many others who have fulfilled themselves are my private war to exclude their work from the
political collective memory.[1]
In this collection, I used natural fabrics, silk satin, silk chiffon, laces, wool, and straw.
The color is in shades of white and off-white, with red and beige.
